Moving to Microsoft 365’s hosted Exchange for emails is a good futureproofing option which removes reliance on on-premise solutions and provides additional resilience by being hosted off-site, as well as removing the need to manage the infrastructure in-house. Migration of the University’s Box data began in October 2020, and Box cloud storage will be retired at Penn State in September 2021. Student, faculty, and staff files will be migrated to Microsoft Office 365 over the coming months. This move will help save on expenses to the University, simplify support, and allow us to leverage existing. The Penn State WebAccess system provides an environment in which users can authenticate/log in one time with their respective Penn State Account user ID and password to a central server in order to access multiple services protected with WebAccess without needing to re-authenticate. Box is now seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Office Online. This integration lets you create Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel files in Box, edit them using the Office Online web applications, then save them directly back to Box without downloading additional programs or applications.
